Step 5: Run Your First Planning Meeting

Every sprint starts with a planning meeting. The Product Owner prepares for the meeting by reviewing the most important tasks from the top of the Wedding Backlog and sharing them with the Scrum Master. Depending on the tasks, the Scrum Master may decide to invite others to the meeting—family members, friends, and vendors who are helping out with the wedding.

SCRUM MASTER TIP - A good practice is to start the meeting by looking over calendars to see what personal events are going on that might reduce capacity for wedding work.

During the planning meeting, the Product Owner will go down the list of top priority items, and everyone can discuss what they believe they can reasonably accomplish during the sprint.
